The website begins subscription tests, thanks to which users will gain access to additional content. The new feature has so far been made available to ten US Instagramers. Among them were: basketball player Sedona Prince, model Kelsey Cook, actor-influencer Alan Chikin Chow and gymnast Jordan Chiles.
“Subscriptions allow creators to earn and get closer to their followers through an exclusive experience,” said Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram.
By purchasing a subscription in Google Play or App Store, followers will gain access to specially marked, additional content on Stories and Live of their favorite instagramers. As commenters, they will also be additionally colored purple to stand out as subscribers.
According to Instagram’s announcement, developers will be able to set monthly subscription prices of $ 0.99, 1.99, 2.99, 9.99, 19.99, 49.99 or 99.99 USD.
